Thangarh-Panchal Ceramic Association announces holiday for 1 month of Thangarh ceramics industry of Surendranagar
surendranagar : The general meeting of Thangarh-Panchal Ceramic Association was held today. In this meeting, the increase in gas prices and rising raw material prices were discussed. Along with this, the association had announced to take a month long leave. After this announcement, Wankaner, Muli, Than and Morbina About 40 thousand daily wage laborers are expected to be directly affected.
More than 300 factories of the ceramic industry are said to be affiliated with Thangarh Panchal Ceramic Association. As the association today announced its decision to take a month’s leave, a cloud of crisis has descended upon the working class. When the ceramics industry is generally affected due to rain, the coming festival of laborers now declared on holiday could be spoiled.
In the general meeting of the association, there was a lot of discussion on the issue of rising gas prices. In which it was discussed that in the year 2005, gas was Rs 13, today it has reached Rs 106 in the year 2022. There is no solution to the issue of rising gas prices even after several pleas to the government. Thus, by declaring a longer holiday, factory owners have time to graze. Also, when the festival of Janmashtami is coming in the near future, the workers are taking leave. Therefore, a long holiday has been announced even before there is a holiday-like atmosphere in the factory.
In the midst of this question, a big question arises whether this long holiday will make a difference to the factory owners or not, whether the condition of the poor laborers will worsen after the festival or not?
Sureshbhai Sompura, president of Thangadh Panchal Ceramics Association, said there is no uptick in the industry amid the gas crisis and high prices. At present, the ceramic industry is not booming, we have barely come out of the gas crisis, but the prices are still high. So we will close the factory for some time and think about a new one so that we will have time to clear the old stock and we will think about why to reduce the increase in gas prices and increase in production cost could.
